A clinical review of 18 cases of the primary retroperitoneal tumors



Abstract
A clinical study of 18 cases of the retroperitoneal tumors, treated in NMC, Seoul, Korea from
1958 until 1969.
1) Primary retroperitoneal tumors are usually asymtomatic until they have grown large enough
to produce pressure symptomes.
2) The ratio between male and female is 1:1.6, and the prevalent age group is 40.
3) Chief complaints of these cases are abdominal pain, palpable mass in the abdomen, defication
and voiding difficulty.
4) In all patients, the mass in the abdomen are palpable.
5) In 18 cases, there are 12 malignant and 6 benign tumors.
